JERRY LYNN’S FINAL WRESTLING MATCH IN PHILADELPHIA, PA

http://extremereunion.net/extreme-rising-philly-matches-1229/jerry-lynn-vs-homicide/

Jerry Lynn is the man that many attribute as the saving power of the Extreme Reunion event with his match against Devon Storm back in April. Many feel without him, that there would be no Extreme Rising. Jerry Lynn has been a stand out competitor, like he has always been. Jerry may not be outrageous or flashy, but when it comes to his performance in the ring he is like no other. He is a solid ring technician that can go hardcore without notice. At 49 years old, Lynn has put his body through unbearable punishment. He has given the fans their money’s worth every time in the ring, and is just a genuine nice guy.

Jerry Lynn vs Homicide has yet to happen in 2012. We are not sure if it is pure coincidence that the two were supposed to meet twice earlier this year and for whatever reasons the planets did not align and the match gets altered or questionably Jerry Lynn no shows. Does Jerry Lynn know something that the rest of us not know? Does Lynn not wish to ever face Homicide and continue to duck him into retirement? Does Lynn feel that he can not go toe to toe with the younger Homicide? Ridiculous question yes, but then why have these two been unable to meet one on one on now two occasions?

Homicide is a warrior of the ring and the streets. He pulls no punches. Back at the first Extreme Reunion event in April, Homicide sat ringside enjoying the action with friends, reminiscing about the old days when he used to watch ECW. Now years later, he is one of the top wrestlers in the World. While taking in the action, words were exchanged with Devon Storm during his match with Jerry Lynn. Moments later Jerry Lynn is flying over the guard rail, knocking Homicide down in his seat to the floor. Security quickly swarmed the area to calm the scene. Extreme management defused the situation, resulting in a contract for Homicide. And that’s where this all starts.

June 29th Corona, NY Homicide faces Devon Storm in a grueling battle, including the various ways to not use a guardrail. Homicide was successful beating Storm. During the match Reby Sky attacked Homicide because of some words and gestures he made earlier in the evening. Matt Hardy and security peeled Reby Sky off Homicide. On June 30th it was set to be Lynn vs Homicide one on one in Philadelphia. Instead it was a three way dance between Lynn, Homicide, and Matt Hardy. Homicide came out the loser in that contest. Then at Remember November in Monaca, PA it was to be Homicide vs Jerry Lynn. The Monday prior to the match, the Extreme Office was notified that Jerry Lynn had re-injured himself and that there was a good chance that he was not to make the event. As the week went on Lynn was looking forward to appearing. However, at 5am the day of November 17ththe Extreme Office received word that Jerry was very sick and would not be making his flight. When Homicide got word he laughed and made fun of Jerry for ducking him yet again, not believing what he was told. Homicide went on to face former ECW Champion Rhino in a tough fight.

Well, the match has been set and it is on for Saturday, December 29th at the Pennsylvania National Guard Armory in Philadelphia, PA. This is the last Philadelphia, PA match –and the last Extreme Rising match that Jerry Lynn has scheduled as his retirement has been set for the Spring of 2013. There is nothing more Lynn would like to win his match, and to beat Homicide once and for all. Going out on top with a win for Lynn has a nice ring to it. Homicide on the other hand wants this match in the worst way. First he wants to just punish Lynn for ducking him. Second, he wants to win because he likes to win, but more importantly and nothing would make him happier to pin Jerry Lynn and send him in to retirement a “loser”. With all that said, a win against Lynn would solidify him as a top dog in Extreme Rising, defeating the extreme legend Jerry Lynn.
