Favorite 2012 NFL Moment
As soon as I saw the option to be able to write what the best moment of this past 2012 NFL season was, I knew right away what it was.
It wasn’t going to be a big play, or a big win by my favorite team, which as an Eagles fan we didn’t have many.
It was going to be about what it is to be a fighter, to be proud, and to be strong. My favorite moment of this past season was ChuckStrong.
Indianapolis Colt coach Chuck Pagano, who was stricken with Leukemia had to take a leave of absence of his head coaching duties.
You witnessed a team that went 2 – 14 in 2011, turn around in 2012 and rally for their coach and go 11-5 and make the playoffs under interim coach Bruce Arians, and rookie Quarterback Andrew Luck.
We not only witnessed a team rally, but the Indianapolis fans, as well as the NFL and Football fans across the country.
We got to see not only the fans rally and support Chuck, but even a few of the Colts Cheerleaders shaved their heads to show their support.
Chuck Pagano single handed brought attention to an awful disease where a nation showed its support and help not only to Chuck but many others affected by this disease to fight against it.
Chuck made an incredible return to the sidelines on December 30th to take on the Houston Texans. The Colts won that emotional game 28-16, and even Texans superstar running back, Arian Foster saluted & acknowledged his support and that he was ChuckStrong as well.
But the best moment of this season was in November Chuck Pagano gave an emotional Locker room speech, where he said important things that everyone should realize about themselves. The importance of family, which makes everyone already champions.
I myself cannot give Coach Pagano enough credit in his courage, and fight and he has made this Eagles fan ChuckStrong and proud to be.
